The Hare Led

Wake-up feel: 6.

Eyes open at 03:22. Up at 03:55.

To the swimming pond, then ready for the day. Less wind than the last days — it has come down.

First green things cut and collected for the kitchen.

Then the bicycle, and the ride to the next station. The first things to the container in Frankfurt (Oder) — the bicycle, some of what is mine. The first load.

Yesterday's post was with me on the way, turning over. Was this going down the mountain, I asked myself, or up.

Just before the threshold of Wüstenhagen, a deer stood in the path. At distance. It looked at me a minute, maybe two. As I closed the gap it turned and ran into the forest.

As the deer went in, a hare came out.

Into the path, ahead of me. I did not stop. It ran directly in front, as if it wanted me to follow. The hare kept going. I kept going.

We came into Wüstenhagen together. At the edge of the village the hare turned right, into the field, and was gone.

Between Gut Nisdorf and the train, the yellow was going. No more fields of it. The rapeseed done — the wheat turning now, slow gold.

The first full Flower day of the new cycle. The Moon in Gemini, in air, the whole day. The descending Moon holds — the planting time, the forces drawn down into the earth. A thin crescent, the first light back.

The field was the hare's. The road was mine.

"Seven places were on the table. The number was never the question. Now I am listening, the direction has been read. I am here to serve, with. The needs of the people who have been close to me all these years belong in this too."
