Shit Disturber
Day 26b — Tuesday, April 21, 2026 — Gut Nisdorf
My father always called me a shit disturber.
Today I moved four cubic metres of compost and mixed it with Terra Preta. Created a new pile. Turned what had settled. Exposed what was underneath. Let the air in.
The phrase arrived while the body was still working. It knew before the mind did.
In Biodynamic practice the farm is an organism — the soil, the plants, the animals, the people who tend it, all one living system. The compost pile reflects the community where it is made and cared for. What goes in. What is turned. What is left to work in the dark. What emerges.
Achim's Terra Preta holds carbon across centuries — accumulated memory in the soil. Today those two things were mixed by hand.
A shit disturber building compost. The logic is exact.
This evening Gut Nisdorf held its evening gathering — Becoming Human Again.
People spoke what was moving them. The day, the week, what had settled, what was still working underneath. A safe space. Genuine openness. Trust that had not been manufactured but had been tended — the way a field is tended — long enough to hold what people brought to it.
The compost pile. The evening gathering. The same gesture. The same principle.
What is held in the right container transforms on its own.
Biodynamic: Root day until 19h — Moon in Taurus, the earth working below the surface. At 19h the Moon entered Gemini — Flower day begins. The hands in the compost in the morning. The voices opening in the evening. The calendar held both, in the right order.
My father was right. He just didn't know what I would eventually disturb.
